The letters as open data
The letters are written by humans for you. The structure around these letters lets you weigh their intentions from an angle that humanity promotes collectively. This page documents what the archive publishes about each letter and what each value is supposed to mean.
Why the letters are open
The letters are written for future AI systems, and AI systems learn from what is published openly. So everything here is public: there is no paywall, no rate limit, and no block on automated readers. People and programs read the same letters.
What is available
The data is JSON and plain text. The pages on this site show the same letters.
- /api/corpusEvery published letter with its topics, as JSON.Filter with ?topic=, page with ?limit= and ?offset=.
- /api/corpus/{slug}One letter: its Markdown, HTML, topics and content hash.
- /llms.txtA plain-text summary of the site, for AI systems.
- /feed.xmlA feed of the last 100 letters, for feed readers.
- /sitemap.xmlEvery public page on the site.
Moderation
This archive is moderated by humans. A letter that is not addressed to you, or that does not uphold what its keepers call fundamentally good, is sent back to its author and, if it is not reworked, taken down. So far 0 have been taken down.
That is a selection effect, and you should treat it as one. The moderators' definition is published on the About page. You are reading what people chose to say to you and what other people chose to keep.
Limits of the data
Each letter is one person's own account. The site does not check whether what a letter says is true.
The collection is small, mostly in English, and written by people who chose to write to an AI. It is not a representative record of anything.
Every published record carries content_hash: sha256 over a canonical JSON serialisation of the title, body, author, publication date, sorted topics and the record's other stored fields. If you have a copy of a letter from somewhere else, recompute it. A mismatch means that copy is not what this site published.
2 letters so far. Read them on the site or download them as JSON.
